and they called it Puppy Love

After 2 days of near 70 degree temps, windows open and not having to wear coats, we awoke to SNOW on the ground this morning.
Ahhhh, spring in the Midwest.


I finished my crochet ripple afghan a week or so ago. (Its the colorful one on the right.) I started a new one (the one on the right), its for my doggy-girl.

Go ahead, chuckle. I deserve it. Yes, I am not only crocheting a blanket for my pooch, I am doing it with colors that match her fur. Why? I don't know, the idea of it made me chuckle. My doggy loved my first afghan. Seriously, she loooooooved it. If it was left out on the sofa, she was nesting on it. If I laid it down just to get up and walk across the room to get the scissors or answer the phone, she was all over it. I figured since she loved it so much why not make her own of her very own? With that face, I could I resist?

Some pictures of my Ripple Stitch afghan. I'm not in love with the colors or the stitches.
It is very fluffy and soft though.

I'm using Caron's Simply Soft. I'd love to be able to make it in wool, but there is just no way I could afford it. :( The Caron's is pretty nice though even for being acrylic. Its not bad to crochet with. I've knitted with it and I hated it. It split like mad, but it works just fine with the hook.Those are my doggies little paws there.


I don't know if its the black or the dark green amongst all the brights that I'm not loving.

2nd Post

I made this blog mostly so I can comment on a few other blogger blogs that I like to read.

I am thinking I will start keeping my daily blog here too. I have another blog elsewhere. The problem with it is that I have several people who know me in real life reading it. THAT was a big mistake on my part. I don't enjoy writing as much if I know someone who really knows me is reading it.

So, I don't know if I'll start totally fresh or if I'll move some of my old stuff here or what. I do know that I'll have to figure something out as I'll never keep up with 2 blogs.

I started my own ripply blanket a couple of weeks back and then I discovered that the great ripple-along is going on online. Its the main reason for the creation of this here blog. I'm thinking as soon as I get a pic of my blanket, I'll mosey on over and join in the fun too!
